My Sweet 16 Dress...

Play this song to get in the mood for the post. ;)

Haha... okay... okay... enough fooling around... I know this is a little off topic, but it does feature my grill, haha. My sweet 16 party is going to be on April 24th and my AWESOME parents are letting me invite 30-40 friends to it... it is going to be semi-formal, but of course I need a dress myself... so I thought I would share. It is so pretty and delicate I love it!!!!!! :)

here is a detail shot of the bodice, or the "top part" as I say it... It is little flowers. :)

I love it. So pretty, I feel like a princess. Thanks to my parents and my Nana and Papa for buying such a special dress, for such a special birthday! It really is going to be a birthday to remember. :)

My Newly Found Gap...

Okay, so, update. I have a gap in my bottom middle teeth. I just got my braces tightened last week and now I have a gap. Not cool. I thought braces were suppose to correct the alignment of your teeth, not worsen it. I have never had a gap before, but now due to this new wire I am developing one. ARGH! Now when I talk I seem to whistle on my "s" it is verrrrrrry frustrating. hmph. Here check it out...

(Sorry for the terrible resolution by the way. I took it with my webcam.)

Here are a couple normal pics...

You can kinda see my profile in this one... sorta.

and another, but straight on instead. I just realized how good I have gotten at hiding my underbite.

GROUP SHOT! haha... cute one of me and my bffs.

And here is a crazy-silly one of me and my lil' sis. :)

For some reason last week was verrrry slow, and stunk big time, but I have a feeling this week is going to be 99% better. Can't wait. :)

Have a blessed week. :)

Inspirations In Today...

I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

-Jack London

This great quote was hanging on the wall in my AP Lit class, and when I saw it I immediately wrote it down for one of my besties Britt, and handed it to her after school. Have you ever felt like your life is mundane? The same day after day? Well I have been in a rut lately, and quitefrustrated with my boring day-to-day life... I asked God, "Why do I feel so empty?". All I know is my school work feels pointless and my daily life is making me apathetic towards life in general. I sit around wondering about my future, but I realize I have to make it happen... that simple fact is like a brick wall. I feel like God is telling me to WAKE UP! Life is short and there are many people in this world to meet, to help, and to share my faith with. Sometimes I feel like a small inadequate ant that has no control, but I do... I have
control over myself and what I do. I am looking to find that special something that God put me on this planet for. I know He will lead me to it, but I have to get my feet dirty first, and roll up my sleeves because there is a HUGE world in front of me that I have to reach. Like the lyrics to a Britt Nicole song goes,

"Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
'Cause somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found

So when you get the chance
Are you gonna take it?
There's a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it."

That is the way I want to live. How about you? Tell me what you do. Make a difference today. :)

Love, Makay

Another Appointment...

I just got home from yet another of my fabulous ortho appointments... a time where they yank and pull on your teeth till they nearly fall out of your head. haha.
They up-ed my wire size, gave me a new set of chains, and added 2
brackets in the back. They also took some x-rays, and supposedly my
teeth are practically parallel, which is a huge improvement they said... so yay! They are taking molds during the next appointment too. That is
another thing we had to take care of today... scheduling every
appointment up until surgery (July 8th.) That took a while trying to coordinate all the dates, but we have it all worked out.

Sometimes when I go to the ortho I wish I had my awesome Phillips Sonicare toothbrush, and though it is among the quieter electric brushes it makes quite a buzzing against the metal on my teeth... and this time I had the brilliant idea/remembrance to take it (because face it... those dinky disposable toothbrushes do nothing). Of course when she took my wire off let me brush, and I loved
it! My teeth werecompletely squeaky clean... I mean you only get your wires taken out for a 3 minute period every 4-5 weeks, take advantage of it! Haha. Of course I got some weird glances from other people in the office when I turned on my buzzing contraption, but my teeth were CLEAN let me tell you...haha.

On another note... I have been listening to the David Crowder Band for a while now, but their songs move me so much. When I am listening to a song I most often find myself near tears singing at the top of my lungs. Other times I will fall to my knees. I have been in my backyard before and with my Ipod , earphones in, and then belting the words to their songs as the wind blows through my hair. I love their music, but I also love this video of their song "Oh, Praise Him", If you get bored you can fastforward it towards the end, but it is a great song. This guy in the video felt moved by the song, and therefore made this video on his own. It is incredible the way God can move through someones entire being and lead them to serve him.

I absolutely love this mans impulse, how amazing to simply be strolling down in NYC and be so move to just stop and worship. I try to do this and show others God's love through me instead of just by words or persuasion because
His love is best shown through your actions.

"It is no longerI that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me."
-Galatians 2:20

I love you all so much, thank you for following me and leaving me such supportive comments... You can not even fathom how much it means to know that you all care. It makes all the difference. :)

Ugh...

I am so sick. :P I really hate it... I have had a constant fever for 2 days now and going on 3. I take tylenol every 4 hours and yet I still have a fever! AHHH! I just wanna be better... :(

But while I am stuck in bed I might as well give an update... because with all this makeup work on the way I doubt I will be posting for a while. haha...

So nothing important has really been happening with my jaw, or my teeth for that matter. I have seen a continued widening of my top palate, which makes me want to jump for joy! If this simple change has boosted my confidence I can't wait to see what the surgery does. :) In about 4 months I will have the surgery and I am sooooo excited, but very nervous. Trying not to be, but it is hard.

Change of subject though, In exactly 1 month from tomorrow I will be sweet 16! WOOHOO! I will be having a huge party on the 24 of April, and you can be sure I will post pictures. :) I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Just one more month! 16 just sounds so much older, and it is a PERFECT age I couldn't be more thrilled. :)

I have to thank my parents for helping me through all this jaw stuff AND throwing me the party of my dreams... you know sweet 16 is often referred to a wedding without the groom. :) I can't wait.

I will be heading to the ortho soon maybe I will have more news then. For now just pray for my health... oh I miss it. I am pretty sick. (coughing). Please... :)

Oh, and you won't believe this video... ugh... gross... but slightly entertaining for us "sicky Vickys". HAHA. enjoy.

I know you probably didn't watch the whole thing... it is very stupid, but this is what our tv stations are feeding the kids these days... haha. ;)

I love you guys!

Best Concert EVER!!!

Hey guys! :)

so guess what? some friends and I went to a Christian tour! AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! We started the day out with a worship band singing loudly and joyfully (and off tune) to the Lord. After and 2 hours of singing and testimony we went off to lunch... after all that we went to a gym with paintball (and let me just say I was pulling Charlie's Angels moves and Angelina Jolie poses) and I killed it! haha. ;) Then we ate a hearty dinner before we went to a devotion with KJ-52! That is right we had a one-on-one heart-to-heart talk with KJ!!! :) He is really amazing and down to earth with a big heart for God and a mission to lead teens (anyone really) to Christ. I love him! haha.

During the concert he was going to pull ONE person on stage, and guess who that was???? MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! YAY! woowoo! haha. It was awesome. :)

He signed my shirt and gave me some free shades... (signed them too.) I also was handed a guitar pick from the Lead guitarist of the band "Letter Black" it was so cool! Me and my friends were in the front row the whole time and it was epic for sure! We were jumping and going pratically insane it was so fun. :D

This is me and my friend Wes (the guy in the background) with the rapper KJ-52. SWEET!

This is me and my besties Wes and Britt... once again Wes is trying to be a gangster. haha...

and here is another with Wes trying very hard to look ghetto... as you can see in the last 3 pics it is not working out for him.

Here we all are ready to go run up to the mosh-pit... but had to get a group shot first...

The concert was a blast and both artists had us jumping and praising God... we crowd dove off the stage, we danced, rapped, head banged, and had the best time ever! :)

Here is one of his songs... enjoy. :)

and here is a song by the opening band Letter Black...

Both bands were really awesome and fun... they stayed after the concert to shmooze with the crowd and sign stuff. They were all down to earth and had music with a great message. The both had us jumping off our feet to the beat... haha excuse the rhyming. ;)

You can see in this pic we were worn out, sweaty, and gross... I hope britt doesn't check this blog too often. haha. we both look pretty bad though. haha. oh well, it was worth it. :) (and yes this pic is small for a reason idk why it just is a smaller file...)

hope you all have a God-Day. :)

love you all.
